Meet Our Team

Today we had a chat with Dillon Borges, Senior Superintendent at Marlin Spring Developments, for an understanding of his crucial role in the construction process. Read the interview below to get to know Dillon and learn more about the ever-evolving process of building.

Hi Dillon! Talk to us about your role and your team. What are you responsible for and how do you collaborate with other teams? What do you enjoy most about your role?

I’m a Senior Superintendent with Marlin Spring Developments and I’m currently working on the 316 Campbell project, which is a purpose-built rental development. My role focuses on overseeing the day-to-day construction operations on site and coordinating closely with our trades, consultants, project management team, and internal design team to keep the project moving forward safely and efficiently.

Construction is always evolving, and one of the biggest challenges is adapting to the changes that come up along the way. Whether it’s design adjustments or improvements during the build, those changes are often made to ensure we deliver the best possible product when the building is ready for occupancy. Being able to work collaboratively with different teams to manage those changes and keep everything on track is a big part of the job.

What I enjoy most is seeing the progress on site every day and working with a great group of colleagues and trades who all bring their expertise to the project. It’s rewarding to watch a building come together over time and know you’re part of creating something that people will eventually call home.

Can you share a memorable achievement or project?

One of the most memorable milestones in my career was reaching occupancy on the House of Assembly project. Achieving occupancy is always a big moment because it represents the culmination of years of planning, coordination, and hard work from the entire team.

There are always challenges along the way on any large project, so getting to that final stage and seeing the building ready for residents is incredibly rewarding. It’s a great reminder of what can be accomplished when everyone works together toward the same goal.

What are you most excited to work on in the coming months?

In the coming months, I’m looking forward to the opportunity to start a new project and work with new consultants while continuing to collaborate with our internal design team. It’s always exciting to bring together new ideas and expertise to help deliver a successful project.

I’m also excited to continue working alongside my colleagues and trades. Building strong relationships on site is a big part of what makes projects run smoothly, and I really value the opportunity to keep developing those relationships while also building new ones along the way.
