Today, we sat down with Nikki, Vice President of Finance at Marlin Spring Developments, for an understanding of her essential role and how she leads her team in maintaining the financial health and operational efficiency of the company. In this interview she highlights the moving pieces she navigates to ensure success across our portfolio.

Hi Nikki! Talk to us about your role and your team. What are you responsible for and how do you collaborate with other teams? What do you enjoy most about your role?

As the Vice President of Finance my team and I manage the accounting, accounts payable, financial reporting and treasury functions of the Marlin Spring Developments. We work closely with Construction, Development, Asset Management, Sales & Marketing and HR to ensure that each project has funding, trades, suppliers and consultants are paid on time, internal and external stakeholders are provided with accurate financial reporting, regulatory compliance is adhered to, and corporate budgets and forecasts are provided to assist with decision making. What I enjoy most about my role is having the chance to work with so many great people across many different departments.

Can you share a memorable achievement?

This past year we closed on three phases of our Ivylea community. My team worked closely with the Sales and Marketing department to ensure that the closing process was a success, resulting in the full repayment of our $280M construction loan.   

What are you most excited to work on in the coming months?

I’m most excited to be closing on the financing for the construction of our first Purpose-Built Rental project.
