Today we caught up with Lois Cormack, CEO, Director and Partner of Spring Living Retirement Communities, to hear about the company’s continued evolution and momentum.
This May, Spring Living celebrated its 4th anniversary. There were many celebrations across our residences, and all of the Executive Directors and senior team were able to meet in person to celebrate our achievements and plan for the next year.
Spring Living continues to grow through acquiring and repositioning mid-market retirement residences in key urban centres. As of 2025, the company has expanded to 22 residences, representing nearly 2,700 suites across the GTA, Ottawa, Niagara, and Greater Montreal. It’s been a year since we completed our latest acquisition of 7 retirement communities in Montreal and Ottawa, as well as an office in Montreal where our Horizon team is located and supports all of the Quebec sites.
This past year, we made further capital investments in a number of our residences by upgrading suites and making significant improvements in amenity spaces at Victoria Place, Cedarcroft, Constitution Place, Village Manor, and others.
These investments improve the resident experience with a pleasant, home-like living environment and help keep us competitive and attractive to future residents.
“At Spring Living, we strive to create unique and caring communities where residents and team members can thrive,” said Lois. “We are most proud of our 1,200 team members who have a positive impact on the residents we serve every day. We are pleased with our team member engagement results this year, with an overall response rate of almost 90% and an overall satisfaction in working at a Spring Living community of 85.05%. This is a reflection of the high level of employee engagement and strong culture”
In March, 2025 Spring Living was recognized as one of Canada’s top growing women led companies with a 59% growth rate over 3 years.
“With additional acquisitions in progress, we’re looking ahead to 2026 with energy and confidence as we continue to expand our reach and our impact. The focus is to stay grounded in what matters most—our residents, our people, and the communities we serve. Together, we’re building something truly special.”
