CEO Update: Pedro Lopes, CEO Marlin Spring Developments

Today we caught up with Pedro Lopes, CEO of Marlin Spring Developments to hear about all that’s been going on in the company and how the team is targeting the completion of 450+ homes this year:

With 20 development projects across the GTA underway, the Marlin Spring Developments' team has had a busy 2024 so far.

There has been great progress on the five projects currently under construction across Toronto and the GTA. The team has celebrated several construction milestones over the past few weeks: Curio Condo in Etobicoke is now above the ground floor and window installation is underway at House of Assembly in Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood.  The Tailor Condo on the Queensway is now occupied and our Customer Care team is fully engaged on the Technical Audit process and cleaning up minor in-suite touch ups.

There has also been impressive progress on our low-rise communities:  Symphony Towns in Oshawa is now fully occupied and we are looking forward to formally unveil the Dale Hawerchuk Park in June with City Officials, as the centre piece of that community. Occupancies at Archetto Towns in Vaughan are progressing well and we anticipate delivering the remainder of the homes to purchasers by end of summer.  IvyLea in Richmond Hill started delivering homes to purchasers in April, with approximately 30 homes already occupied.

“As we head into the summer months, we’re pleased to continue our efforts to deliver more than 450 homes to purchasers this year. Construction progress is ongoing and on schedule with close to 2000 units in various stages of construction across our portfolio," says Pedro Lopes, CEO, Marlin Spring Developments. "Despite the less-than-ideal current market conditions, we believe that the market will stabilize, driven by strong economic fundamentals and what we believe will continue to be a sustained demand for housing. The BoC announcement on Wednesday is certainly a step in the right direction towards a more balanced lending environment that will continue to provide relief to people who either already own or want to purchase a home in the near future. The GTA remains one of the most dynamic and resilient regions in Canada.  We will continue applying razer-sharp focus on delivering high-quality, high-value homes while always looking to meet the evolving needs of our purchasers.”
